The new documentary film, RAPHAEL: The Lord of the Arts will be screened this Sunday, February 11 at 2pm at The Park Theatre's River Street Theatre in Jaffrey.

RAPHAEL, produced by Britain's Sky Cinema and Sky Arte, is an original and innovative film working to bring together the art world and the world of cinema, a combination of expert commentary from famous, authoritative art historians, sophisticated historical reconstructions that guarantee intimate, emotional participation, and the most advanced UHD filming techniques to create an all-encompassing, engaging, visual experience. Enlightening commentary from the experts takes us on a journey starting from Urbino (where Raphael was born), stopping off in Florence and continuing on to Rome and the Vatican, which represents both the peak of Raphael's brilliant artistic career and its epilogue. The story is told through a total of 20 locations and 70 artworks - more than 30 by Raphael - as well as with numerous exclusive interviews and original opinions.

The impassioned, knowledgeable commentary is entrusted to three expert art historians: Antonio Paolucci, Antonio Natali and Vincenzo Farinella. Among the exclusives in the film: the reconstruction of the Sistine Chapel; reproducing the frescoes by Perugino and Michelangelo that decorated the wall behind the altar before the Last Judgement, and displaying Raphael's tapestries (exceptionally exposed); original, first time-ever, 4K footage from inside the Apostolic Palace, showing private places not open the public such as the Raphael Logge and Cardinal Bibbiena's apartment, with the Loggetta and the Stufetta rooms; Prof. Paolucci revealing that restoration work on the Sala di Costantino which is underway and a new theory attributing the Comitas fresco (Kindliness) to Raphael; first time, exclusive, temporary display of two altarpieces by Perugino and Raphael depicting the Marriage of the Virgin, exhibited side by side for just a few months at the Brera Pinacoteca; 360° Virtual Reality Footage and reconstruction of the Sistine Chapel.
