Bravo Creative Arts takes you over the rainbow to the Land of Oz for a spectacular musical fantasy!
In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the beloved Wizard of Oz film, Bravo Creative Arts has assembled a large cast from the mid state area that will dazzle audiences with colorful costumes, high energy dance, and a timeless score including Over the Rainbow, Yellow Brick Road, Ding Dong the Witch is Dead, If I Only had a Brain...A Heart...The Nerve, We're Off to See the Wizard, Merry Old Land of Oz, and more!
The musical adventure based on book by L. Frank Baum, begins as Dorothy Gale (played by seventeen year old Nashville native Hayley Jones) dreams of a land "somewhere over the rainbow." Dorothy's dream comes true when she, Toto, and her house are transported by a tornado to a bright and magical world unlike anything she has seen before. Unfortunately, she makes a mortal enemy of a wicked witch when the house falls on the hag's sister. Befriended by colorful Munchkins, Glinda the Good, a Scarecrow without a brain, a Tin Man with no heart and a Cowardly Lion--and protected by a pair of enchanted ruby slippers--Dorothy sets off along a yellow brick road for the Emerald City to beseech the all-powerful Wizard of Oz for his help to return home.
Whether you're a long time fan of the musical or seeing Wizard of Oz for the first time, Bravo's production of the classic story reminding us "there's no place like home" is sure to bring a smile!
The Wizard of Oz is great entertainment for the entire family and runs October 11 - 13 at Nashville's Father Ryan Theater located at 700 Norwood Drive. Evening performances are October 11 & 12 at 7pm. Matinee performances are October 12 & 13 at 2pm.
