Franklin Theatrical Fellowship has the nation’s first rights to 2023 Tony-Award winning play Good Night, Oscar by Pulitzer prize winner Doug Wright. Full of humor and heartbreak, this entertaining yet thought-provoking story is based on real events in the life of Oscar Levant, when the genius musician turned provocative comedian makes a fated appearance on Jack Paar’s The Tonight Show in 1958.
FTF Artistic Director Melanie Sutton leads the production starring popular local actor Shawn Knight (AEA) as Oscar Levant, fresh off his acclaimed run in Our Town at Nashville Repertory Theatre. The remaining cast includes: Kay Ayers, Trey Smith, Josh Kiev, Jarvis Bynum, Hayden Jones, and Sawyer Latham.
FTF is a professional theatre company that exists to bring human beings together through the shared experience of live theatre. Free talkback conversations and local hospitality are part of every performance. In an era of loneliness, division, and hostility, we need the kind of fellowship and empathy that the arts can provide - now more than ever.
Good Night, Oscar has a limited run January 16-19th at the beautiful FSD Performing Arts Center near downtown Franklin. Tickets range from $30-50 and 15% off promo code FTFHOLIDAY is good through January 6.
