NowPlayingNashville.com, an initiative of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, recently has unveiled smARTS -a ticket package collaboration with Actors Bridge Ensemble, Dance Theatre of Tennessee, GroundWorks Theatre, Street Theatre Company, and Tennessee Women's Theater Project. This unique discount ticket package allows patrons to sample five performances from five organizations' 2011-2012 seasons for $60, a savings of more than $25.

"smARTS is geared toward getting the community even more engaged with Middle Tennessee's performing arts scene. With this package, it brings more organizations together to provide affordable opportunities to sample the arts," contends Jennifer Schwartzenberg, community initiatives director at The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. "We are excited to bring yet another ticket package to the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area."

"Before NowPlayingNashville.com, there was no way for smaller arts organizations to collaborate on ticket offers such as this one," says Maryanna Clarke, founder and artistic director of Tennessee Women's Theater Project. "They have helped us move this project from a good idea to a great deal for ticket buyers."

A smARTS package includes five vouchers redeemable for one performance to each organization. Depending on purchase time, patrons can select from the entire seasons of the Actors Bridge Ensemble, Dance Theatre of Tennessee, GroundWorks Theatre, Street Theatre Company, and Tennessee Women's Theater Project. The 2011-2012 performance seasons vary for each organization, and the complete season schedules are as follows:

Actors Bridge Ensemble presents The Flu Season by Will Eno (December 8-10), The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico Garcia Lorca (February 17-26), Time Stands Still by Donald Margulies (May 11-20), Boom by Peter Sinn Nachtreib (June 14-17) and Outside Paradise: A New Play by the members of the Actors Bridge Ensemble (July 27-August 5).

Dance Theatre of Tennessee presents The Nutcracker - Murfreesboro (December 16-18), Latin Heat (March 3-4) and Coppelia (May 4-6).

GroundWorks Theatre presents Robert A. O'Connell's The Very Different Christmas Dinner (December 9-18) and Unconditional (March 2-10).

Street Theatre Company presents Murder Mystery Dinner Series: The Haunting of Cloyd's Ghost (November 4-5), Ragtime: The Musical (November 18-026), I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (February 2-12), TOMMY in Concert (February 22-26), Parallel Lives (May 1-July 31), The Last Five Years (May 4-26), Say Goodnight, Gracie (June 8-24), Caroline, Or Change (September 7-30), Macabaret (October 4-December 28) and Miss Saigon in Concert (November 14-16).

Tennessee Women's Theater Project presents Trying (through October 16), The Disappearance of Janey Jones (March 2-18) and Women's Work 2012 (May 4-20).

"This package is a further testament to NowPlayingNashville.com's commitment in providing as much performing arts experiences as possible to everyone in Middle Tennessee," says Christopher Mohnani, artistic director of Dance Theatre of Tennessee. "Much like the Dance Theatre of Tennessee's mission of bringing ballet to the people, NowPlayingNashville.com is bringing live performing arts to all."
