Bilingual show TEASER : https://vimeo.com/900885530 Leaky Immediations is a choreography for a leaky body. In this multi-sensory piece, Lara composes dialogues between her body, sonic objects, small bodies of water, glassy thresholds, dripping wigs, crinkling sheets, deep growls, and the cloudy surfaces of words. Actions of the past layer on top of those of the present, creating a non-linear experience of movement in time. Throughout, the body is fleshy, rumbling, both porous and uncapturable. Like a lake, she is an ecology of slippery relations. An homage to the complexity of female sexuality, Leaking Immediations has stakes in the economy of the gaze, working against objectification and towards excess and ambivalence. Narratives write and rewrite the world, but truth is a sea of multifaceted fragments dissolving into one another. Can choreography be a lens to see essences not as fixed points, but as movement and shift across fluid thresholds? Lara Oundjian is an interdisciplinary dance artist based in Montreal/Tiotià:ke, of Swiss, Armenian and British heritage. She trained in contemporary dance, choreography, somatic practices and practiced-based theory in various contexts of Berlin, Stockholm and Montreal. From a place that is both personal and political, she is busy with various kinds of feminist and queer embodied emancipation. She researches practices of transmission between internal and external spaces. She has presented her work in Montreal at the OFFTA, Tangente, Phenomena festival, Summerworks, and Lots of Love. Lara was a resident artist with the Third Floor at Usine C from 2019-2021 and at La Serre from 2020-2021.
