SHREK THE MUSICAL Wraps Up WISTA'S 10th Anniversary Season 6/9-17, 2017

By:

Three-time META Award nominee WISTA will be presenting their ninth full book musical production, Shrek the Musical. Sponsored by FedNav, this production will run for 6 performances on June 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 7:30 PM, as well as June 10 and 17 at 1:30 PM, 2017 at the Louise Chalmers Theatre, John Rennie High School, 501 boulevard St. Jean, Pointe-Claire, QC.

Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairytale adventure that proves there's more to a person than meets the ears. It's the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude, and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Irreverently fun for the whole family!

With a unique pop-up book design and a dash of cunning puppetry, WISTA puts a unique spin on the popular story, featuring a cast of 32 young and talented performers. All of these volunteer performers have one thing in common: a deep-rooted passion for musical theatre.

Newly added for this production: audiences will have the chance to Meet & Greet with the cast after the June 10 and 17th matinee performances. In addition, 15% of sales from the June 10th matinee will be donated to Camp Erin® Montreal, a free weekend long camp that provides comfort, hope and healing to children affected by loss.

"Shrek delivers strong messages about self-esteem, confidence, self-acceptance, and second chances. If you've ever felt like you didn't fit in, this is the show for you" says Philippe Gobeille, Director (Recent theatre credits include You Will Remember Me, Centaur Theatre)

Tickets are now available through www.WISTA.ca/tickets or by calling 1.800.838.3006!
