RENT W/ Rapp And Pascal Plays Hennepin Trust 3/25-29

Rent, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical about love, friendship and community starring original Broadway cast members Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp and Gwen Stewart, will play Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre March 25-29, 2009. This new touring production tells the unforgettable story of a group of young artists learning to survive, falling in love, finding their voices and living for today. Individual tickets are on sale now. Rent is presented by Hennepin Theatre Trust as a special addition to its 2008-09 M&I Bank Broadway Across America-Minneapolis season. The national Broadway Tour began January 6, 2009, in Cleveland, Ohio. Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp and Gwen Stewart originated the roles of Roger Davis, Mark Cohen and "Seasons of Love" soloist, respectively, at New York Theatre Workshop and on Broadway. Justin Johnston (Angel), Michael McElroy (Collins) and Stewart were all members of the final company of Rent, which played its last performance on Broadway September 7, 2008. Rent, The Broadway Tour, is directed by Michael Greif, who received 1996 Tony and Drama Desk nominations as well as the Obie Award for Rent, and choreographed by Marlies Yearby who received a Tony Award nomination for her work on the musical. Tim Weil, the show's original music supervisor and conductor, serves as music supervisor.

Performance dates for Rent are Wednesday, March 25 through Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre (910 Hennepin Avenue, Mpls, 55403).

Show times are: Wednesday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 26 at 2 and 7:30 p.m.
Friday, March 27 at 8 p.m.
Saturday, March 28 at 2 and 8 p.m.
Sunday, March 29 at 1 and 6:30 p.m.

HENNEPIN THEATRE TRUST, owner of the historic State, Orpheum and Pantages Theatres, is a non-profit organization devoted to enriching the vibrant cultural atmosphere of the Twin Cities. The Trust's programs include Broadway touring productions, the Literary Legends Writer's Series, the SpotLight Musical Theatre Program for high schools, Critical View student reviewer program, Teen Ushers, the Access Program and Kids' Night.
