Minnetonka School District Announces Elementary Musical Audition Dates

Auditions have been set for the Minnetonka School District elementary school musicals: 101 Dalmatians. Auditions will be held on October 4th and 6th at 7pm on the Excelsior Elementary big stage. All district 4th and 5th grade students are eligible to try out for the show.
This new theatre opportunity is part of the District's goal to elevate fine arts programming for its elementary students. All six Minnetonka elementary schools will present a fully mounted production of 101 Dalmatians complete with sets, lights, costumes and sound. The shows will be performed in February and March, 2012."Each individual school will have one week on the stage at Excelsior Elementary for dress rehearsals and their performance," said associate director Trent Boyum. Students will practice for about eight weeks prior to the show. Six individual directors and music teachers will work with the students to keep the productions professional and polished. Auditions have been scheduled early so families can plan busy schedules around rehearsals and performances.
