Hennepin Theatre Trust will host a special 5 p.m. Billy Elliot "Happy Hour" On Sale Event set for Thursday, Sept. 23 at the State Theatre Box Office in downtown Minneapolis to launch single ticket sales and give those in attendance the best chance for great seats. On that day starting at 5 p.m., tickets will only be sold in person at the State Theatre. Added Happy Hour attractions include refreshments, exclusive offers by Trust restaurant partners and an appearance by BT, the Cities 97 Radio personality. The first 97 people in line will also receive a free Billy Elliot CD cast recording with purchase.

BILLY ELLIOT: THE MUSICAL, winner of 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical, is the joyous and exciting celebration of one boy's triumph against the odds. The story follows Billy's journey as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class and discovers his dream to dance. Full of life, laughter, award-winning choreography and unforgettable music, this uplifting show will stay with you forever. Based on the international smash-hit film, Billy Elliot the Musical is brought to life by the Tony-winning creative team of director Stephen Daldry, choreographer Peter Darling and writer Lee Hall, along with music legend Elton John, who has written what the New York Post calls "His Best Score Yet!"

Billy Elliot runs Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 to Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011 at the Orpheum Theatre, 910 Hennepin Ave., Mpls., 55403. Ticket prices range from $33 to $133.50 depending on performance time and seating preference. Additional service charges may apply. All prices include applicable facility fees. Single tickets go on sale at 5 p.m. Sept. 23, 2010 in person at the State Theatre Box Office only (805 Hennepin Ave., Mpls., 55402). On Friday, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m., tickets will also become available online at HennepinTheatreTrust.org or through Ticketmaster by (call 1.800.982.2787 or visit a Ticketmaster Ticket Center).
