Hennepin Theatre Trust And Jack Link's To Open Pre-show Destination On Hennepin Avenue ImageHennepin Theatre Trust announced today it has reached a milestone in its partnership with Jack Link's Protein Snacks. The JACK LINK'S LEGEND LOUNGE (900 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis), located next to the historic Orpheum Theatre, will open to the public on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. before the first performance of Hamilton. Last December, the Trust announced it was partnering with Jack Link's to renovate the portion of 900 Hennepin's first floor that faces Hennepin Avenue to create a theatre-enhancing destination for guests to meet and gather when attending shows. The lounge will be open to the public and feature Jack Link's inspired crafted cocktails and protein snacks for purchase.

"We're grateful to Jack Link's for their support of this distinctive new public space on Hennepin Avenue. Together, we've created a brand new experience for theatre-goers and their guests when attending shows," said Mark Nerenhausen, president and CEO of Hennepin Theatre Trust. "These types of partnerships bring together many stakeholders to further extend a community of arts and culture."

The Jack Link's Legend Lounge will open 90 minutes before each performance of the Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin series and during intermission with Jack Link's inspired cocktails, Jack Link's products, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase. Future plans may include local breweries, distilleries and other partners for special events, complimentary samplings and tastings.

"We're excited to reveal Jack Link's Legend Lounge in partnership with the Trust," said TD Dixon, chief marketing officer at Jack Link's Protein Snacks. "Together, our two organizations share the vision of a flourishing downtown community that now includes access to Jack Link's inspired crafted cocktails and delicious protein snacks."

The opening of Jack Link's Legend Lounge coincides with the completion of a major renovation to all three floors of the 900 Hennepin building. The Trust purchased the building in 2016 and embarked on an ambitious project to restore its historical features and update the space to accommodate a wide variety of activities and events. It is currently home to the organization's business offices and available for rental.

Built in 1921, the building has served as home to numerous tenants, including a telegraph and business college, barber shop, union headquarters, a place to receive vocal lessons (where Andrew Sisters once took classes) and more. Its most recent tenant, Solera restaurant, occupied the space for more than a decade before closing its doors in 2014.

The Trust's investment in this prime location along Hennepin Avenue allows the nonprofit organization to usher the historic space well into the future, providing businesses, organizations and individuals with a beautiful venue for weddings, corporate parties and meetings, live music and theatre events, and much more. It will also serve as a hub for arts and cultural events including workshops and performances hosted by the Trust's flagship program, Spotlight Education, which engages more than 5,000 Minnesota high school students in the performing arts each year.
