Four Humors Theater Presents SKINNER BOX & YOU ONLY LIVE FOREVER ONCE, 11/17-26

Four Humors Theater presents the original comedy Skinner Box in rep with a remount of its completely sold out 2011 Minnesota Fringe Festival hit You Only Live Forever Once at the Open Eye Figure Theater.

There is an urban legend that famed psychologist B.F. Skinner raised his own daughter in a Skinner Box; an operant conditioning chamber that permits experimenters to study animal behavior through stimuli and reward. People were outraged, but it turned out that it was only a temperature controlled crib. But what if Skinner had actually been able to raise a set of twins away from public scrutiny... for over 25 years?

The inspiration for Skinner Box hit director Brant Miller years ago while still in college; "I was in a sociology class at the University of Minnesota watching an old film about psychology experiments being performed on rhesus monkeys and found myself laughing uncontrollably at their absurdity. After learning about B.F. Skinner's experiments and the controversy about him purportedly using his daughter as a test subject, I couldn't help but imagine those bizarre experiments being conducted on people instead of animals."

Skinner Box is conceived and directed by Brant Miller, co-writer of Welcome to Dystopia and The First Five Minutes are Slow. Created by and featuring the talents of Jason Ballweber, Kristin AlAnna Campbell, Tim Hellendrung, Ryan Lear, Rachel Petrie, Matt Spring and Garret Vollmer.

After a sell-out, six show run at the 2011 Minnesota Fringe, Four Humors Theater will present a limited encore run of the award winning You Only Live Forever Once, a comedic spy show of epic proportions told through a mix of live action and puppetry.

Traveling the world in style and hopping from the arms of one femme fatale to another, secret agent Dave Johnson must stop the mysterious Agent X from destroying the world before it's too late. Filled with intrigue, danger and hot glue, You Only Live Forever Once is sure to leave the audience gasping for breath at every humorous, hairpin turn.

Directed by Jason Ballweber and featuring the talents of Four Humors Theater company members Kristin AlAnna Campbell, Ryan Lear, Rachel Petrie, Mark Rehani and Matt Spring.

Performances are November 17-26, 2011.

Skinner Box performs Thursday, November 17th at 7pm, Friday November 18th at 7pm, Saturday, November 19th at 7pm, Sunday, November 20th at 7pm, Monday, November 21st at 7pm*, Friday, November 25th at 9pm, and Saturday 26th at 2:30pm and 9pm.

You Only Live Forever Once performs Friday, November 18th at 9pm, Saturday, November 19th at 9pm, Monday, November 21st at 9pm*, Friday, November 25th at 7pm, and Saturday, November 26th at 7pm.          

Tickets are $14 regular price; $12 MN Fringe Button, Seniors; $10 Students, Fifth Humor Members. *Monday, November 21st is a Pay-what-you-can performance. There is a $20 Combo Pack (same night only) of You Only Live Forever Once and Skinner Box. All ticket sales are at the door. No reservations.
