AVENUE Q Comes To The Minneapolis Stage 4/13-18

By: Mar. 17, 2010

Avenue Q, the Tony Award-winning Best Musical about real life in New York City as told by a cast of people and puppets, returns to Minneapolis to play Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre, April 13-18, 2010. Featuring a hilariously irreverent Tony Award-winning book and score, the New York Times hailed Avenue Q as "a breakthrough musical of a very different stripe. Savvy, sassy and delicious!" Avenue Q is presented by Hennepin Theatre Trust as a special addition to its 2009/10 Broadway Across America-Minneapolis Season.

Tickets for Avenue Q are on sale now. For more information, visit www.HennepinTheatreTrust.org or call 1.800.982.2787.

Avenue Q tells the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who moves to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. The only apartment he can afford is way out on Avenue Q, where everyone's looking for the same things he is: a decent job, a stable relationship, and a "purpose." Eventually, Princeton learns to embrace the ups and downs of city life and realizes that "the real world" isn't so bad.

This hilarious show tackles life's complex issues and is full of heart and hummable tunes such as "What Do You Do With a B.A. in English?" and "It Sucks to Be Me."
Avenue Q features music, lyrics and original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx and features puppet design by Rick Lyon.

Tickets for Avenue Q range from $28-68 and may be purchased in person at the State Theatre Box Office (805 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, 55402), online at HennepinTheatreTrust.org, or through Ticketmaster by calling 1.800.982.2787 or visiting a Ticketmaster Ticket Center. Performance dates for Avenue Q are Tuesday, April 13 through Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the Orpheum Theatre (910 Hennepin Avenue, Mpls., 55403). Show times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1 and 6:30 p.m.
