The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, presented by Shifting Ground Collective, explores the lives of passionate middle schoolers as they strive to prove that their unique differences make them winners. The musical features a mix of improvised spelling challenges with audience participation, underscoring themes of adolescence and community. Directed by Jennifer Walls and musically directed by Michael Ippolito, the cast includes Ben Ridd, Berkley Silverman, and Diana Del Rosario, among others. This production highlights the experiences of neurodivergent youth, aiming to foster connection and authenticity among its participants.
