Wharton Center Welcomes THE GRUFFALO'S CHILD Today

By:

The Gruffalo always said that no gruffalo should ever set foot in the deep dark wood. But one snowy night, while the Gruffalo was snoring, the Gruffalo's child decided she'd go exploring. And as it happens with all kids who don't listen, the Gruffalo's child gets into all kinds of mischief. And so begins this captivating and hilarious story, THE GRUFFALO'S CHILD, coming to Wharton Center today, March 21, as part of the Act One Family Series.

Tickets are on sale now and are available at the official source to purchase Wharton Center tickets online, whartoncenter.com, at the Auto-Owners Insurance Ticket Office, or by calling 1-800-WHARTON.

This silly and scary musical -- adapted from the wildly popular children's book of the same name by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler -- tells the story of the Gruffalo's child, who just wants to see the world, despite warnings of her father's worst fear: mice. But what is a Big Bad Mouse to a gruffalo anyway? The show will be performed by Tall Stories, the world-traveling English theatre company founded in 1997, and will feature the crazy characters that kids have grown to love through the award-winning picture book.

"Tall Stories' staging of this classic is 'everything good children's theatre should be,'" says the List. THE GRUFFALO'S CHILD lives up to every expectation. Complete with beautiful costumes, hilariously funny musical numbers, and fresh off their global tour, THE GRUFFALO'S CHILD shows everyone the true value of family through this exciting -- and sometimes scary -- tale of bravery and adventure.

This performance is suitable for children ages 4 & up. Be sure to come early to each performance to take part in iCAN, the FREE interactive and educational pre-show activity provided by Wharton Center's Inner Circle volunteers.
