The Everyman Project To Inaugurate The New Theatre Project’s New Space

By: Apr. 14, 2011

The New Theatre Project is thrilled to announce their next offering, The Everyman Project, inspired by the medieval morality play by Anonymous.

Using the unconventional process developed with the popular The Spring Awakening Project, TNTP takes a look at this classic medieval morality play from a contemporary perspective. TNTP is committed to using non-traditional, non-hierarchical ways of organization to produce theatre. This commitment is reflected in the fact that the script evolved from the ensemble's exploration of
the question: "What is a moment in your life when you realized, afterward, everything would be different?"

In this unique production, TNTP Playwright-in-Residence Jason Sebacher (The Spring Awakening Project) deftly weaves truthful stories from the lives of TNTP Ensemble members with the original text to create a truly original portrait of the modern day Everyman.

Everymanis directed by Ben Stange (Director, Cloud Tectonics) and will feature the talents of Luna Alexander, Ben Berg, Andy England, Analea Lessenberry, and Elise Randall.

This will be the company's inaugural performance in their very own new performance space at 220 Felch St. Unit 5. Special pay-what-you-can previews will be held from Tuesday, April 26 - Thursday, April 28 at 8 pm. The production opens on Friday, April 29 and runs through Sunday, May 15 with performances Friday-Sunday. There will be two performances each on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and 10 pm. Sunday performances will be at 8 pm. There will be no 8 pm
performance on Friday, May 6.

Tickets are $15, and students/seniors/industry tickets are $10 (cash or check only). Tickets can be reserved by calling or texting The New Theatre Project box office at (734) 645-9776 or emailing tickets@thenewtheatreproject.org.

Want to help contribute to the Project? The space is almost entirely designed using found, resale, and repurposed items. Bring in a chair to donate to the new space and decorate any way you please.
