TheatreSouth to Bring I HAVE A DREAM to 4th Street Playhouse, 1/22-25

By:

Councilman Jimmie L. Williams III, Herman LeVern Jones and THEATRESOUTH INC. present the second annual production of I HAVE A DREAM the Broadway Musical by Josh Greenfield, running January 22-25, 2015 at the 4th Street Playhouse at Phichol Williams Community Center, 951 SW 4th Street, Homestead, Florida.

Starring Broadway actor Jahi Kearse, as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Kearse had rave reviews for his performance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in January 2014. Mrs. Coretta Scott King, will be portrayed by Off Broadway actress, Bianca LeVern Jones, fresh from her role as Goneril in Shakespeare's King Lear at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.

The Broadway musical "Have A Dream" has something for everyone, a mix of sheer entertainment with profound education. The original Billie Williams' Broadway production has evolved since 1976, touring 126 cities worldwide between 1985 and 2003. The playwright, Josh Greenfield scripted King's iconic quotations, public speeches and writings into a re-enactment of America's Civil Rights Era (Southeastern region, 1955 - 1968). Under the gifted direction of Herman LeVern Jones, history unfolds for today's audiences, imbued with Jones' unique educational and artistic background and his intimate familiarity with the King family.

You will also enjoy Music Director Jason Sweet, as he tunes up a slew of heartfelt gospel songs, sung by the I Have A Dream Gospel Choir, plus the electrifying brand of choreography provided by Dwight Thompson, of MyAct Studio.
