By:

We all have been faced with making decisions - some of them are natural and some of them maybe forced upon us. On November 14, audiences will have the opportunity to follow the tale of Stellaluna as she faces the conflicts and the possibilities of her future at 10:30AM at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.

Recommended for grades K-4 and ages 4-9, Stellaluna is a story about being something or someoNe You are not along with the obstacles one is faced when put in this situation. Baby bat Stellaluna's life is completely turned upside down when her mother is attacked by a spiteful owl and she is knocked out of the nest and ends up in the nest of a bird. She is happy to have found a bird mother to care for her until she gets reunited with her mother, but she has to adhere to the bird's condition, she has to act like a bird. After being with her adoptive bird mother for some time, Stellaluna learns to act like a bird, she no longer hangs upside down by her feet and she begins to eat bugs. One day Stellaluna sees an opportunity to show her bird siblings what life as a bat is like, which causes them to look at her different. We have all been in situations where we had to change or conform to something and when our beliefs or thoughts are not in align with what people perceive us to be it causes them to perplexed by that persons action. They play has many themes that today's children could definitely benefit from including befriending people different from themselves and acceptance.
