LAKE WORTH PLAYHOUSE TO SEND IN THE QUEENS

The Lake Worth Playhouse announces 'Send in the Queens,' the second annual drag show fundraising concert to benefit the Playhouse. Two performances of this high-end, high-energy drag concert will take place during Pride Week on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28 at 8:00 p.m.

'Send in the Queens' features a cast of drag performers who will channel some of the hottest singers of stage and screen, honoring legendary performers ranging from Connie Francis to Jennifer Lopez, and presenting song-and-dance numbers from such musicals as Grease, Chicago, The Great American Trailer Park Musical and Mamma Mia.

After last year's sell-out performance, the Playhouse has added an additional show to this year's 'Send in the Queens' schedule. All proceeds from both the March 27 and March 28 shows will be used to support Playhouse operations.

Lake Worth Playhouse is a not-for-profit, non-equity community theatre with a diverse array of offerings, including award-winning dramas, comedies, musicals, area premieres, reinterpretations of classics, children's shows, ballets and operas on film, concert series and alternative programming. In addition to its main stage theatrical fare, the Playhouse presents year-round independent and foreign films in the Stonzek Theatre, an intimate black-box style theatre equipped with a large viewing screen and high-definition projection. The Playhouse offers a variety of educational programs for adults and children, as well as community outreach initiatives that bring cultural programs into the neighborhoods of underserved youth and also make theatre available free of charge for disadvantaged citizens in the community.

Tickets

Admission for 'Send in the Queens' starts at $35 for general seating. Donation packages (ranging from $50-$500) come with benefits including reserved seating, cast photos and tickets to upcoming Playhouse productions. All ticket levels include a 7:00 p.m. pre-show cocktail party at the Playhouse and a meet-the-cast after party at The Cottage restaurant at 522 Lucerne Avenue in Downtown Lake Worth.
