What better time to see a political farce than during a heated presidential race?  In David C. Hyer's Lying in State, a campaign manager considers the advantages of running a dead Senator as his party's nominee, the Senator's ex-wife may or may not be settling scores and the grieving fiancée might just be after his Senate seat.  It all takes place in a funeral parlor where bodies go missing and laughs abound in this fast-paced political farce.  

Lying in State is the second play by David C. Hyer; his first play, Who Wants A Four Door, was chosen by Players Theatre of Columbus for its Playwrights' Work-in-Progress series.  He began writing plays shortly before he retired as a Trade Association Executive.  He spent over 40 years working in governmental affairs with the Savings and Loan and Petroleum industries.  A native of Columbus, Ohio, he graduated from Ohio State University in 1951.  A man with a wicked sense of humor, Hyer passed away in December of 2003, shortly after he finished Lying In State.
