Broadway star Patrick Cassidy is making his Wick Theatre debut as Stephen Kodaly in She Loves Me, playing the role that won his father, Jack Cassidy, a Tony Award. He will be joined by Julie Kleiner, Matthew Kacergis and Lauren Weinberg in this this romantic musical comedy, which debuted on Broadway in 1963 and was revived in 2016.

"This is a tremendously talented all-star cast," said Marilynn A. Wick, Managing Executive Producer. "And we are thrilled that Patrick Cassidy has agreed to play one of his father's most iconic roles as the show's devilishly urbane ladies' man. Our audiences know Patrick from his stellar stage, TV and film career, but they also feel a sentimental connection with him through their admiration for his parents, Jack Cassidy and Shirley Jones."

This show will also be a sentimental one for theatre lovers in South Florida because of the passing of director and master teacher Michael Larsen, who was set to be the musical director of She Loves Me.

To honor Michael, The Wick will be using his creative two-piano arrangement, which he created specifically for this production. The show will now feature Eric Alsford and Michael Friedman as co-musical directors and veteran director Norb Joerder.

"While this tremendous loss has saddened us as a community, the best way we can honor Michael is by celebrating his legacy with an incredible show, and we intend to do just that," continued Marilynn Wick.

She Loves Me is a musical with a book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Block. The plot revolves around Budapest shop employees Georg Nowack and Amalia Balash who, despite being consistently at odds with each other at work, are unaware that each is the other's secret pen palfrom the lonely-hearts ads. The story has been adapted to film three times already, most recently in the Tom-Hanks-Meg Ryan feature, You've Got Mail.

Patrick Cassidy who has starred on the Great White Way in 42nd Street, Elton John's Aida, Annie Get Your Gun and Pirates of Penzance, is looking forward to assuming one of his father's most famous roles, and he plans on playing it to the hilt.

"I definitely channel my dad in this performance," explained Cassidy. "This role exemplified the caddish charm he was always known for, and I play this part as a homage to him and his incredible talent."

Of course, Patrick Cassidy comes from a gifted household. His mother is one of the most beloved stars of all time, Shirley Jones, and his brothers are singers David Cassidy and Shaun Cassidy.

Julie Kleiner who wowed Wick Theatre audiences in 42nd Street, White Christmas and Curtains is back as Amalia-- one of her first roles in Florida, in the Michael Hall production at the Caldwell Theatre. Matthew Kacergis is making his Wick Theatre debut playing the role of Georg. He was recently seen in the national tour of Disney's The Little Mermaid. And Lauren Weinberg who delighted fans as Adelaide in Guys and Dolls at The Wick, will be playing Ilona.

The Wick Theatre is located at 7901 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL
