Linda Eder, Barbara Cook and Billy Porter to Headline 2015 South Beach Broadway Series in Miami This Winter

By: Sep. 12, 2014

Linda Eder, Barbara Cook and Billy Porter, a trio of Broadway's brightest Tony Award and Grammy Award-winning recording stars, are announced by producers Matthew Lombardo and Rick Murray to headline their inaugural "2015 South Beach Broadway Series" at the Colony Theater, 1040 Lincoln Road.

Premiering Friday and Saturday, January 30 and 31 with Linda Eder ("Jekyll & Hyde") set to follow on Friday, Saturday, February 27 and 28 will be legendary Broadway and concert performer Barbara Cook. Billy Porter, who shook up Broadway with his Tony Award winning performance as "Lola" in "Kinky Boots," wraps up the season Friday and Saturday March 20 and 21.

Familiar to South Florida audiences for last season's sold out series at Ft. Lauderdale's Parker Playhouse and at Provincetown's Paramount Theatre, Lombardo and Murray have consistently produced sell-out shows starring such iconic performers as Carol Channing, Tommy Tune, Alan Cumming, Patti Lupone, Jennifer Holliday, Megan Hilty and an array of others.

"Rick and I are tremendously excited to bring our Broadway series to South Beach," said Lombardo. "This season will offer a diverse menu of pop, classical and contemporary performers in a concert subscription series that will celebrate and encompass the very best of Broadway, both past and present."

Subscriptions for the 3-concert series are $299, $199, and $99 are now available via (305) 434-7091; www.colonytheatremiamibeach.com, or at the Colony Theatre Box Office.
