Patrons of Hollywood's popular Food Trucks at Arts Park will be treated to a book reading and a sneak peek of a children's musical production today, August 5. It's free and the public is welcome.

Author Julie Woik will be reading from her first book in her popular series of children's books, THE LIFE AND TIMES OF LILLY THE LASH, THE GARDEN GATHERING. In addition, characters dressed in bold colorful costumes from the new musical based on this book will be performing several numbers from the production. The author will take questions from the audience members.

Books, DVDS, CDs and tickets to live performances of LILLY THE LASH & THE GARDEN GATHERING MUSICAL will be available for sale that evening and fans will have the opportunity to meet Julie as well as purchase copies of her books that she will personalize and sign.

LILLY THE LASH & THE GARDEN GATHERING MUSICAL is a new and entertaining live theater production with life-size characters that engage the audience throughout the performance, frequently encouraging their participation. The character-building message of self-worth and timeless life lessons appeal to people of all ages, particularly young children who will be delighted and fascinated by the cast of characters led by Lilly the Lash herself. This original production is a wonderful introduction to live theater for young audiences and promotes literacy and reading while teaching valuable life lessons.

All performances will take place at the Fort Lauderdale Main Library in the Main Street Auditorium Mezzanine August 7 - 9, 2013. A Gala Performance is scheduled for August 7 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for all performances are $5 in advance or $8 at the door.
