Jester Theater Hosts Auditions For THE FOREIGNER

Jester Theater Company is holding open auditions for their upcoming comedy, The Foreigner by Larry Shue. Information also available at www.jestertheater.com.

Auditions will be held at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL 34787) on Monday, Dec. 5 from 7-10pm. Actors unable to attend auditions on Monday can email Jester Theater Company to arrange auditions before callbacks begin on Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 8-10pm. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Please bring a headshot and resume.

All roles are PAID and available for Non-Equity performers. Needed are 5 men and 2 women.
Rehearsals will begin late January in the Winter Garden area. The show will be performed at the Garden Theatre in Winter Garden and runs March 16 - April 1, 2012.
Character breakdown is as follows:

CHARLIE BAKER: 30’s - 40’s. Meek, timid, painfully shy British man who wishes only to be left alone. (The Foreigner).

SGT. “FROGGY” LESUEUR: 30 - 50. Charlie’s best friend, British military. Loud, boisterous and outgoing. Well - fed and flushed with the spirit of adventure.

ELLARD SIMMS: 20 - 35. Catherine’s brother. Big-hearted but not too bright.

REV. David Marshall LEE: 25 - 40. A good man people find charming and personable. Very clever and perhaps and not as trustworthy as he appears. Engaged to Catherine.

OWEN MUSSER: 25 - 50. Rough southern, impatient man. Intolerant of strangers, not to be trusted.

BETTY MEEKS: Elderly Georgian woman. Widow and innkeeper of the Georgia fishing lodge where the play takes place. Not worldly.

CATHERINE SIMMS: 20 - 35. Engaged to David. Sharp, southern young woman.
