BlackBox Theatre presents 700 WIVES THE MUSICAL Image

700 Wives, an updated, comedic version of King Solomon's story, with book and music by prolific playwright/composer Ginger Reiter, (The Jackie Mason Musical, Mel Schwartz Sleeps with Mae West) will be at Empire Stage in Fort Lauderdale, a charming BlackboxTheatre near the Galleria Mall this season.

700 Wives features a hilarious harem of favorites, including Comedian Sheba Mason, Carbonell Best Actress Ann Marie Olson, Samantha Laney (Gynmasia, Forum, Wick Theatre), Bob Nation, and David R. Gordon as Solomon who had 700 wives and just in case they all suffered from a headache one night - 300 concubines on the side. The king's accomplishments are derailed when the Queen of Sheba shows up in Jerusalem, reeking havoc among the temple builders, disrupting harem life among the wives, and shattering the misbegotten dreams of Chlorina, the Transvestwife wannabe (Brian Bloomer).

The cast also includes Joseph Long as First Minister Pau, and the gorgeous Kitchy Celestina as the lead harem dancer. The show opening Feb 15 and running through March 11, will also be at The BocaBlackBoxTheatre for one performance only on Tuesday, February 27 at 8:00 PM.
