The Bay Street Players Second Stage series, The Bay Street Project, opens its 5th Season on September 25 with Michael Hollinger's bawdy farce, Incorruptible, A Dark Comedy About the Dark Ages.

This comedy pokes fun at how we humans can twist our convictions to rationalize our bad behavior. Director of the play, Joel Warren, says "this play really deserves all of the adjectives usually thrown about: zany, hysterically funny, full of belly laughs and on top of that it's a well written play acted by good actors." Cast members are James Canavan, Liz Curtis, Ethan Earls, Brain Flaherty, Charlotte Jardine, Chasteen Mullins, Rick Paulin and Patrick Ward.

It's the 13th Century and hard times have fallen upon a small monastery. The monks have taken a vowel of poverty to help the poor but are running out of money to help the poor as well as themselves. The patron saint of their monastery, Saint Foy, hasn't produced a miracle in 13 years. As a result pilgrims and locals alike have stopped coming to pray for assistance while paying a donation to view Saint Foy's relics. And if that isn't bad enough, a rival church claims to possess the relics of Saint Foy and their bones are working miracles. All seems lost until the destitute monks take a lesson in larceny from a minstrel, who teaches them an outrageous new way to pay old debts.

Don't miss the opportunity to see this comedy, it will be performed for three Sunday evenings only; September 25, October 2 & 9 with performance time at 7:30.
