On Tuesday, February 8th, Leigh Anne Tuohy, who was portrayed by Sandra Bullock in the movie The Blind Side, will deliver a special pre-show reading of Ferdinand The Bull live from the Orpheum stage. The Orpheum's Spring Family Series kicks off this month with a stage and musical adaptation of the classic children's book, Ferdinand the Bull.

Leigh Anne and her family received national attention after being featured in Michael Lewis's 2006 book, The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, later made into a 2009 feature film adaptation The Blind Side. Tuohy was portrayed by actress Sandra Bullock, who won the Academy Award for Best Actress for the performance.

The classic children's tale was revisited in the movie when Leigh Anne lovingly likens her newly adopted son Michael to Ferdinand, the character in the children's book she read her kids.

Ferdinand the Bull will start at 6:00 PM and the pre-show activities begin at 5:00 PM with animals from Happy Times Farm petting zoo, activities from the Children's Museum of Memphis, and an onstage reading by Leigh Anne Tuohy. Tickets are $12.50 each and are available at The Orpheum Theatre Box Office, Davis-Kidd Booksellers, and all Ticketmaster locations. To purchase tickets, call (901) 525-3000 or go online at www.orpheum-memphis.com. For more information, please email education@orpheum-memphis.com.
