In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play Plays The Circuit Playhouse

By:

Sarah Ruhl's drama/comedy, set in the 19th century at the dawn of the age of electricity, is about an unusual new therapy to treat "hysterical" women. When a doctor introduces this new technology to his lonely patients and into his own marriage, it unravels everything the moral middle-class thought it knew about female sexuality. A 2010 Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for drama and Tony Award nominee for Best Play.

In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play is directed by Dave Landis and Assistant Directed by Irene Crist (From Up Here) and features Josh Quinn (Dividing the Estate), Andrea Rouch (Footloose; How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), Kyle Blair (Annie), Claire D. Kolheim (Ragtime, Avenue Q), Liz Sharpe (From Up Here), and Nick Mason (How to Succeed; Avenue Q).
