Penobscot Theatre Company's Dramatic Academy presents Sideways Stories from Wayside School, a dramatized version of Louis Sachar's popular Sideways Stories book trilogy, November 3 at 5:00 pm, November 4 at 4:00 pm, and November 5 at 11:00 am. "We love a good read and we're over the moon when a really good book gets turned into an even better play!" said Director of Education Amy Roeder, "All of the zaniness and fun of the books is translated to hilarious effect in this energetic adaptation by John Olive."

The Wayside School of Sachar's imagination was built with one classroom on top of another, 30 stories high, and that is not even the wackiest thing about it! There is a wandering cow, a loony lunch lady, talking pigtails, magic and mayhem. There is NO nineteenth floor though, and Miss Zarves definitely does NOT teach on the nineteenth floor.

Twenty youths comprise the cast of Sideways Stories from Wayside School: Madeline Allen of Hermon, Christopher Barrett of Hampden, Sophia "Soapdish" Crespo of Bangor, Samuel Dineen of Bangor, Emma Dryer Neiman of Bangor, Isabella Fagone of Hampden, Atticus Foster of Veazie, Joseph Griffin of Old Town, Ronan Griffin of Old Town, Derrick Johnson of Hampden, Maia Johnson of Hampden, Miranda Larson of Hampden, Cami Layman of Hampden, Delilah Miller of Stetson, Anna Paradis of Ellsworth, Inanna Piccininni of Bangor, Laura Pribus of Kenduskeag, Gwyneth Ravenscraft of Bangor, Aaron Raye of Newburgh and Kelly Tian of Hampden . Rebekah Friedman of Brewer is the student assistant director.

Amy Roeder is directing Sideways Stories from Wayside School, assisted by Alekzander Sayers.

Tickets are $10 for students and $12 for adults. Discounted rates are available for groups of eight or more. To purchase, please call (207) 942-3333 or visitwww.penobscottheatre.org.
