Registration Is Now Open For Youth Production Of BABE, THE SHEEP PIG Penobscot Theatre Company's Dramatic Academy is now registering youths aged 4-15 for its spring production of Babe, the Sheep Pig.

Classes will begin March 27 and run every Tuesday and Thursday until May 10. Led by professional teaching artists, students will take the play from page to stage, learning dramatic technique in a safe and collaborative environment. The program will culminate with three public performances, fully produced and technically supported, at the historic Bangor Opera House, May 11-13. Registration will close March 29.

Based on the beloved book by Dick King-Smith and dramatized by David Wood, Babe, the Sheep Pig is the story of an unassuming pig with a daring dream. After Farmer Hogget wins Babe at the village fair, the politest of all piglets is adopted by sheepdog Fly who helps him develop his herding instincts and a strong taste for adventure. Babe, the Sheep Pig is a timeless tale of courage and the power of positivity all packaged in a pint-sized porker with panache.

"We are delighted to bring this charming tale to life!" said Amy Roeder, Penobscot Theatre Company's director of education. "With lots of exciting roles, Babe is the perfect way to close our 2017-2018 after-school season!"

Babe, the Sheep Pig is produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
