And a note from our artistic director...
We're entering our 23rd season, and this is arguably one of the strongest, most exciting seasons of theatre we've ever assembled. As I look over the list of shows to the right, I can't help but think back to all of the amazing shows we've produced over the years. Our history is truly a melting pot of blockbusters, artistic challenges and unique opportunities. This season, while completely unique in its own right, reflects that history remarkably clearly. We have Debbie Does Dallas, one of the crazy musicals that have become one of our hallmarks. We have the first local production of 39 Steps, straight off of Broadway. Contrast these with Frozen, a powerful drama and A Boy Named Charlie Brown, part of our Falcon Gives Back series, which benefits Project Linus, and you have a diverse, remarkable collection of productions.
We remain committed to the goals and ideals we held when we started this company in 1989: challenging our actors, exciting our audiences, and creating a vibrant artistic culture in which artistis can stretch their abilities and visions. As you peruse our 2011-2012 season, you'll find that in some ways, each show fits this vision, and yet each one also brings something completely different into play for our artists and for our audiences. In addition to an outstanding season, Falcon is also grateful for our amazing audience. 2010-2011 was our strongest season to date, both for season attendance and for our patron program. These are our best indicators that we're dong something right. More people are seeing our shows and becoming patrons-- supporting the art we create, not only through their attendance and encouragement, but through needed financial support. Through our patrons and our ticket sales, we can give right back-- in the form of better productions, both technically and artistically.
Every year at this time, I get incredibly excited to see the season laid out before us for the coming year. I am eager to begin the new season, discover each of these plays as we create them, meet new patrons and audience members with every show and, of course, to continue to share our Passion for Performance.
