There’s a Nightmare in my Closet by Mercer Mayer & Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll
"There's a Nightmare in My Closet" is an imaginative family show based on the renowned
children's book of the same title by Mercer Mayer. This piece is a classic of Tears of Joy's
repertoire. Over the past twenty years, bushy-haired Michael in his red-striped PJs and the sadeyed,
big-eared, blue nightmare monster have traveled all over the world.
The boy and the Nightmare are adaptations of Japanese Bunraku puppets and the Jabberwocky is
performed with three dimentional shadow puppets created from kitchen utensils which fuels the
imagination!
Tears of Joy’s 60-minute performance is full of fun, with humor for adults as well as children
(ages 3+) to enjoy.
