Write Act Rep Presents HOLLYWOOD! HOLLYWOOD!, 8/28-9/19
Write Act Repertory's Producing Artistic Director John Lant announced the New York premiere of HOLLYWOOD! HOLLYWOOD! the new musical by composer and lyricist Lou Briggs. The production will take place at the Richmond Shepard Theatre from Saturday, August 28 through Sunday, September 19.
HOLLYWOOD! HOLLYWOOD! is a musical journey through the lives of Ryan, a handsome dog-walker; Melanie, a pretty waitress; Claire, an office-temp; Trudy, an Avon/Mac/Mary Kay cosmetics saleperson; Jay, an entertainer for all occasions, and their friends, Orlando, Armando, Eva, Amanda and Concepcion - all pursuing their dreams of becoming paid actors in the Hollywood film industry. Then there is Laura Tanner, Hollywood's most glamorous movie star who is making appearances all over town to promote her new autobiography, as well as her hired escort, Vincent the Magnificent - the hunky, ex-Chippendale dancer, and Freddy, her publisher and the one true love of her life.
Featured artists of this production of HOLLYWOOD! HOLLYWOOD! include Book, Music and Lyrics by Lou Briggs, with Direction and Choreography by Marcus Yi, Produced by John Lant and Costume Design by Andela Armand, in association with the Hollywood Civic Light Opera.
HOLLYWOOD! HOLLYWOOD! premieres at Write Act Eastside @ the Richmond Theatre located at 309 E. 26th Street at Second Avenue. Seating is limited. Refreshments precede and follow the show.
