World Premiere Comedy RESOLVING HEDDA Opens at Victory Theatre Center

By:

Maria Gobetti and Tom Ormeny, co-artistic directors of the Victory Theatre Center, are pleased to announce their next production scheduled to rock the Big Victory, the world premiere of Jon Klein's timely contemporary comedy Resolving Hedda. Directed/produced by Gobetti, produced by Tom Ormeny & Katie Witkowski, Resolving Hedda is set to begin previews on Sept 22, 23, 24 and is scheduled to run from Sept 30 through November 12.

"I personally believe Ibsen's Hedda Gabler to be one of the most superbly executed and important plays ever written," says Klein. "But Hedda herself seems to have a different point of view."

In this world premiere comedy, Resolving Hedda, Ibsen's characters from Hedda Gabler, who know the play insanely well after centuries of performances, try desperately to keep the play afloat. At the same time Hedda, just as desperately, tries to sabotage the plot in order to avoid her demise. The misadventures that ensue continue to raise the stakes of hilarity to a fevered pitch. And if Hedda succeeds in her quest to live, will this classic theatrical work ever be performed again?

This is notable American playwright Jon Klein's fourth world premiere play at the Victory in 30 years, including T Bone 'N Weasel, Suggestibility, Wishing Well, and now Resolving Hedda. "We've always enjoyed working with Jon," says director Maria Gobetti. "He has a rare comedic sensibility - his own unique voice."

RESOLVING HEDDA begins previews Sept 23, 24, 25, with the opening weekend scheduled Sept 29, 30 and October 1, running Fridays and Saturdays @ 8 pm, and Sundays @ 4 pm through November 12. Tickets range from $24-$34. The Victory Theatre Center is located at 3326 W. Victory Blvd in Burbank, CA 91505.
