The Moth Theatre Presents SUPER SUNDAY, Opens 4/14

The Moth Theatre, John Markland, Artistic Director, Efrain Schunior, Managing Director, has announced their production of Super Sunday, a comedy by Stephen Collins, directed by Jamie Wollrab. The opening is set for Thursday, April 14 at 8pm, and the limited run will end on May 15.

In Super Sunday, a complicated, wise-cracking Vietnam vet turned ad executive finds his life unraveling when he discovers his wife's interest in one of her acting class partners ... a younger man. Oddly comic mayhem ensues as the couple stumbles toward total indifference ... and possibly some self-discoveries that could save their marriage. Super Sunday was previously produced at the Williamstown Theatre Festival.

The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Wes Chatham, Jen Dede, Alex Desert, Alice Fulks, and Ross McCall. The set design is by Sean Vasquez, lighting design is by Justin Huen, costume design is by Stephanie Powers, and sound design is by Efrain Schunior. The production stage manager is Mara Klein, and the producer for the Moth Theatre is Mara Tasker.

Playwright Stephen Collins has enjoyed success in several different areas of show business. He has appeared on Broadway (Spamalot, Moonchildren, The Ritz), off-Broadway (Durang's Beyond Therapy, Macbeth with Christopher Walken, with Julie Andrews in the Stephen Sondheim revue Putting It Together at Manhattan Theatre Club). Collins is perhaps best known for his role as the Reverend Eric Camden on more than 200 episodes of 7th Heaven, but his other television credits include shows such as Tales of the Gold Monkey, The Waltons, Barnaby Jones and Charlie's Angels. He is currently a series regular on the ABC series No Ordinary Family. He is an Emmy Award nominee for his work opposite Ann-Margret in the mini-series The Two Mrs. Grenvilles, and has also written two novels, Eye Contact (1994) and Double Exposure (1998). Among other film credits (including All The President's Men and Star Trek: The Motion Picture), Collins has appeared in two movies with Diane Keaton, The First Wives Club (1996) and Because I Said So (2007).

Super Sunday is set to open on Thursday, April 14 at 8pm. The regular performance schedule is Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 6pm through May 15.
