The Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts at Pepperdine University will host its annual Family Arts Fest, a community event featuring arts activities and performances for children and adults, as well as museum tours and some of Los Angeles' most popular food trucks, on Saturday, March 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tickets, which are $5, are available now by calling (310) 506-4522 or visiting arts.pepperdine.edu.

The main entertainment of the afternoon will be two performances by children's musician Sonia De Los Santos in Smothers Theatre at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Hailed as "one of the Latin Children's music artists you should know" (Billboard), De Los Santos has been performing her positive, multicultural, family-friendly music with Grammy Award-winning group Dan Zanes And Friends since 2007. Singing in English and Spanish and playing guitar, mandolin, and jarana, De Los Santos' messages of joyful community, music making, and cultural bridge-building inspire and excite children and grown-ups of all backgrounds.

Additional performances include dance parties with DJ Tessa and magic shows with Stephen Bailey, which will be presented on an outdoor stage in the Gregg G. Juarez Courtyard. Food will be available for purchase from the food trucks The Original Grilled Cheese Truck, Recess Truck, Chicken and Waffle Factory, and Humble Crust Pizza Truck in the main parking lot.

Frederick R. Weisman Museum Director Michael Zakian will be hosting guided tours of the current museum exhibition, Alexis Smith: Private Lives and Public Affairs. Adjacent to the Weisman Museum will be a collaborative art project, as well as face-paintingoffered by Rainbow Painted Smiles. Tours will also be available of the Center for the Arts backstage areas, including the scene shop, hosted by Scene Shop Foreman Stewart O'Rourke.

"We consider Family Arts Fest to be our open house for the community. We're excited to share interactive, participatory performances and arts experiences with children and families of all ages. This is a great opportunity to come to the Center for the Arts and learn more about the many ways we can all be touched, be moved, be inspired, and be transformed by the arts," said Rebecca Carson, managing director of the Center for the Arts.

A full schedule of activities and artists will be available prior to the event at http://arts.pepperdine.edu/

Activities and food trucks are subject to change.
