THE COLOR COLLECTIVE - The Hottest And Most Diverse Variety Show In LA Comes To Hollywood Fringe!
If Saturday Night Live and In Living Color had a love child, it'd be The Color Collective; a jam-packed hour long variety show featuring diversity in dance, stand-up, sketch comedy, music and more! After a run of 15 straight standing-room only shows at The Pack Theater in Los Angeles, and guest appearances at The Second City Hollywood and the San Francisco SketchFest, Color Collective Comedy takes on the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
"The Color Collective was created in order to provide a platform so that no matter who you are, you would see yourself represented on stage," creator and producer Royce Shockley explains. "When I first started performing a few years ago, there was a severe lack of representation in comedy and I wanted to help change that," And that, The Color Collective definitely does. Featuring a live DJ, audience interaction and their very own dance squad - in addition to a unique brand of comedy - this quickly moving variety show hosts an extensive cast of performers, with various cultural backgrounds. It's a place where, according to Shockley, "people are free to play roles that normally they'd never be cast in because of their race, gender, background, or the color of their skin."
"Diversity and representation are things that are very important to our show and we're extremely grateful to the community that has been supporting us over the past year. It's a testament to the hard work our cast, writers and producers have put into this show every month," says Shockley.
Hosted and Created by Royce Shockley and guided by the direction of Mirage Thrams, and co-produced by Corinne Chooey, LA Abbott, Richard Aaron and Stacy Rumaker, The Color Collective is a non-stop stimulation of the senses that leaves you entertained and wanting more.
