Slightly Sane Productions Announces ANTON IN SHOW BUSINESS All-Female Cast, Crew
6539 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. 90036 - Tickets: www.plays411.com/anton
Anton in Show Business is an all female production. Schure states, "When Nell (the director) and I decided to work together, creating an all female team felt like a natural progression; an extension of the all female cast that has roles for men written to be played by women." The majority of TV, film and theatre have an overwhelming male majority. We want to experience a reverse normal. It's not about excluding men, it's about choosing women. "I am thrilled to be working with this group of super talented women that have already raised my bar with their talent, creativity and dedication." Historically, women have been convinced that there are only so many seats at the table. Nell and I want to build a brand new table.
Anton in Show Business is a satirical romp across the stage of American Theatre. When Holly, a wildly popular TV star, needs to get theatrical street cred to be considered for film, she signs on to do Anton Chekov's Three Sister's in a small repertory theatre in Texas. In contrast to early Shakespeare, women play all of the roles in this true ensemble. With the depth of Chekov and the levity of Bravo, Anton in Show Business holds a hilarious mirror up to entertainment from coast to coast.
