Shelley Fisher's THE HEBREW HILLBILLY - 50 SHADES OF OY VEY to Play Benefit Performance

By: Jun. 10, 2017

Flamingo Blues Entertainment proudly presents a special benefit performance of Memphis singer/songwriter Shelley Fisher's original solo musical play The Hebrew Hillbilly - Fifty Shades of Oy Vey! on Saturday, June 17th at Santa Monica Playhouse with proceeds to benefit the Playhouse.

The Hebrew Hillbilly - Fifty Shades of Oy Vey! is a musical rock n' roller coaster ride that begins in the heart of the Mississippi delta, filled with humor and pathos, served with cornbread and cleavage.

Fisher's story of a good little southern Jewish girl with big rock and roll dreams gets fueled by 15 original Memphis inspired blues, rock n 'roll and pop songs co-written with renowned hit makers, Kenny Hirsch (I've Never Been To Me, No One In The World) and Harold Payne (Bobby Womack, Snoop Dogg). The music packs an authentic Memphis punch blending rock with blues, and a lot of soul.

It's a musical journey that celebrates diversity, dreams and determination to never give up. At the core of this hilarious and poignant play is finding purpose beyond The Hollywood Sign!

Shelley Fisher (Singer/Songwriter/Actress) - Born and raised in the heart of the Mississippi Delta in Memphis, Tennessee, home of rock 'n roll and the blues, Shelley comes by her love of music and entertainment naturally. After completing her graduate work in fine arts and drama at UCLA, she recorded a solo album on Fantasy Records, rocked the disco charts with her hit rendition of 'Wonder Woman' on Roadshow Records, and wrote 'Disgorilla', the sequel to Rick Dees 'Disco Duck'. Her dynamic and diversified repertoire features blues, R&B, pop, rock 'n roll, and country. Her unique blend of soulful music, earthy vocals and comedy has captivated audiences worldwide. As creator and star of the romantic comedy cooking show, ForkPlay, Shelley has appeared on many national TV shows including 'Style Court' on the Style Network, 'The Dream Team', 'Breakfast TV' in Vancouver Canada, and with Dick Clark and Danny Bonaduce on NBC's 'The Other Half.'
