At the 2014 Hollywood Fringe Festival FROM A YARDIE TO A YANKEE played to SOLD OUT houses, received overwhelmingly enthusiastic reviews and critical acclaim, and won author and solo performer Sardia Robinson the Fringe's "Innovative Women in Theatre" Award. FROM A YARDIE TO A YANKEE will be performed Off-Broadway in October along New York's Theatre Row.

Now, Aidras Entertainment announces that due to popular demand, two industry-only command performances of FROM A YARDIE TO A YANKEE will be presented in LA on September 19 and 20, 2015, at Michael Woolson Studio. FROM A YARDIE TO A YANKEE is a spellbinding one-woman show starring Jamaican-American actress Sardia Robinson portraying the gripping, gut-wrenching TRUE STORY of her courageous life journey from a poverty ravaged Jamaican tenement to the land of the free and home of the brave.

Audiences are placed in the center of the action as Robinson, often as herself, but also portraying key family members and friends involved in her odyssey. She guides the audience through her very real and very dangerous struggles through abject poverty, destruction, hopelessness, dead bodies, premature motherhood, tragic loss, and also hope and the drive to succeed, especially as she embarks on the opportunity of a lifetime to reinvent herself as a true Yankee and proud American citizen.

Robinson will be performing the show for a two-performance-only official theatre industry gala in Los Angeles prior to taking the show to New York City for the United Solo Festival. Robinson's engaging and unique storytelling style takes audience members on an emotional rollercoaster ride fraught with peril, pain, suffering, but also humor and the undeterred human spirit to survive.

Here's what audience members are saying about the show: "The moment Sardia hit the stage I was hooked. What a brilliant performance and performer. I highly recommend FROM A YARDIE TO A YANKEE. A must see!" - William "Mickey" Stevenson - Songwriter, Producer, and Motown Records' first A&R Director "An amazing show, filled with heart, drama, happiness, and hope. Sardia takes the audience through her humorous yet challenging transition from Jamaica to America. Passionately performed from the heart of a beautiful woman for all to see." - Gregory Marquette - Television and Film Writer/Director/Producer responsible for such films as Innocents, Genius on Hold, and Oba: The Last Samurai "This show is a gem! A real must see!!! Sardia takes the audience on a journey from childhood in the real Jamaica, the one we never see, to the trials of being a single mom, to dreams coming true when she becomes an American citizen! Her acting skills are excellent and her characters range from loveable to horrifying, each with their own voice! Great job! Brava!" - Tom Cavanaugh - Playwright (The Circus Still Comes to Town, Diner Talk, The Wildness Treatment, Adam & Yoshi), Screenwriter (Harvest, The Heroes of '76), Producer and Writer.
