Photo Flash: First Look at BUS STOP at Little Fish Theatre

By:

Little Fish Theatre today announced the opening of the final show of its thirteenth season, William Inge's acclaimed comedic drama, BUS STOP.

Set in a diner outside of Kansas City in 1955, an unexpected snowstorm is preventing a bus from continuing on its route. Eight characters wait out the snowstorm in the diner overnight, using the time to pursue romantic opportunities and escape from loneliness.

Grace, played by Christina Morrell, runs the diner; while Mara McCaffray plays young Elma, who waits tables. Amanda Broomell and Morgan West play Cherie and Bo, a young couple working out their relationship, and Virgil the ranch hand is played by Doug Mattingly. Carl, who drives the bus, is played by Brad C. Light, while Logal Loughmiller plays Will, the local Sheriff. Rodney Rincon completes the cast as the alcoholic intellectual, Dr. Gerald Lyman. Rincon is a frequent performer at Little Fish, having acted most recently in Oswald, the Actual Interrogation. The remaining cast members are new to the Little Fish stage.

BUS STOP will run Fridays and Saturdays November 14 through December 13. Sunday matinee performances are scheduled for 2pm on November 30 and December 7. After the November 30 performance, the creative team will be available for 10 to 15 minutes for post-show discussion with the audience.

Founded in 2002, Little Fish Theatre presents classic and contemporary plays in an intimate setting on Centre Street in downtown San Pedro. Producing eleven plays each year for a one-room 65-seat venue, Little Fish delivers the quintessential close-up theatrical experience, where audience and performers share space and sight-lines, making for eruptive laughter, highly-charged action and palpable emotion.
