Neil Simon's PLAZA SUITE Checks In At Little Fish Theatre On August 3

Add three uproariously funny stories taking place in Suite 719 at the infamous New York City Plaza Hotel to the legendary Neil Simon as the playwright, and you get Plaza Suite opening August 3 at Little Fish Theatre. Company Member James Rice takes the directing reins in this Tony Award-nominated comedy, mixing mirthful situations with slapstick moments and making one timeless audience-pleasing play.

In the first act entitled "Visitor >From Mamaroneck," we meet the not-so-blissfully wedded couple Sam and Karen Nash. In an attempt to bring some fire back to their relationship, they are revisiting their honeymoon Suite. But their plan backfires when Karen learns some not-so-savory news about her husband. "Visitor From Hollywood" is the second act, bringing movie producer Jesse and his old flame Muriel, a suburban housewife, together in the Suite for an interesting and enlightening reunion that neither of them expect. The third act, "Visitor From Forest Hills," revolves around Roy and Norma on their daughter Mimsey's wedding day. In a rush of nervousness, Mimsey has locked herself in the Suite's bathroom and refuses to leave. Chaos ensues as they franticly attempt to cajole her into attending her own wedding while the gathered guests wait downstairs.

Three Little Fish Theatre Company Members and one new face to LFT audiences have signed-in to stay at Plaza Suite. Kathryn Farren, most recently seen in LFT's Provenance and director of the short film "The What If Factor" making the rounds at festivals, appears in all three acts. Annie Vest, a familiar face from her work in LFT's annual short play festival Pick of the Vine, is seen in the first and third playlets. David Graham, director of this season's hit The Foreigner and seen on stage in LFT's Table Manners, performs in all three plays. Newcomer to the LFT stage and Morgan Wixson Theatre alum Brian Patrick O'Sullivan completes the foursome. O'Sullivan is an accomplished singing comedian and improv actor by way of Chicago and North Carolina.

Director Rice remarks, "Neil Simon's Plaza Suite features three stories about love and marriage; tales about a marriage at the crossroads, about the one that got away, and about the anxiety of starting a life together." He continues, "The audience will feel deeply, smile broadly and laugh hilariously."

Plaza Suite will run Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm August 3 through September 1 with two Sunday 2:00pm matinees on August 26 and September 2. The August 26 matinee features a special Talkback session where the actors and creative team will be available for 10 to 15 minutes for a post-show discussion with the audience.
