Musical Theatre Guild to Present TRIUMPH OF LOVE

By:

Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critic's Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, will continue their 2014-2015 season with the 1997 musical adaptation of Marivaux's classic TRIUMPH OF LOVE.

The one-night-only concert will take place at the Moss Theatre at New Roads School in Santa Monica on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 7:00 pm.

A fusion of mistaken identity, fast-paced hilarity, confusion, romance and passion: all that is TRIUMPH OF LOVE; a 1997 chamber musical based on Marivaux's classic 1732 commedia dell'arte play about Greece in the 5th century, BC.

With a score by Jeffrey Stock and Susan Birkenhead and a book by James Magruder, TRIUMPH OF LOVE received three Drama Desk Award nominations and Tony nomination for Betty Buckley who originated the role of Hesione. The musical will star Musical Theatre Guild company members Eileen Barnett (Hesione), Stan Chandler (Dimas), Misty Cotton (Corine), Scott Harlan (Harlequin), Jeffrey Scott Parsons (Agis), Kevin Symons (Hermocrates) and Shannon Warne (Léonide). TRIUMPH OF LOVE will be directed and choreographed by Kirsten Chandler with musical direction by Brent Crayon and is under the production supervision of Will Collyer and Todd Nielsen.

The MTG 2014-2015 season continues with THE GOLDEN APPLE, GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES and concludes with Sondheim's ROAD SHOW. The Moss Theatre at New Roads School is located at 3131 Olympic Blvd. in Santa Monica. Single tickets and subscriptions are available by logging onto www.musicaltheatreguild.com or by calling 818-848-6844.
