Musical Theatre Guild to Host OUR BROADWAY SCRAPBOOK Benefit, 9/22

Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angles Drama Critic's Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, will present OUR BROADWAY SCRAPBOOK, a benefit concert at their new venue: Santa Monica's Ann and Jerry Moss Theatre. OUR BROADWAY SCRAPBOOK, a celebration benefit introducing the Musical Theatre Guild, will be presented September 22, 2013 at 7:00 pm, two months in advance of their inaugural Moss Theatre season opening. All proceeds from this one-night-only event will benefit the New Roads School.

The company of professional performers, who normally present concert-staged readings of seldom seen musicals, will present OUR BROADWAY SCRAPBOOK; a tuneful and humorous retrospective from the past seventeen seasons of Musical Theatre Guild shows. The benefit will serve to introduce a Westside audience to this award-winning group and raise funds for the New Roads Schools arts programs. Written by Duane Pool, directed by Todd Nielsen with musical direction by John Boswell and hosted by Jason Graae, OUR BROADWAY SCRAPBOOK will feature MTG company members: Eydie Alison, Eileen Barnett, Roger Befeler, Chuck Bergman, Teri Bibb, Jill Marie Burke, Melissa Lyons Caldretti, Dan Callaway, Melissa Fahn, Chris Warren Gilbert, Gordon Goodman, Jennifer Gordon, Jason Graae, Steven Hack, Pamela Hamill, Kim Huber, Damon Kirsche, Marsha Kramer, Roy Leake, Jr., Jennifer Malenke, Shauna Markey, Jennifer Shelton, Glenn Shiroma, Shannon Warne and Susan Watson.

This new partnership with the beautiful, state-of-the-art Moss Theatre at New Roads School is an exciting step in reaching a Westside audience for this award-winning group. The Ann and Jerry Moss Theater is part of the Capshaw-Spielberg Center for Arts and Educational Justice, a project of New Roads School and New Visions Foundation. Completed in February, the theater seats 344 and has acoustics engineered by Yasuhisa Toyota, acoustician for the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. The theater is located at New Roads School, The Herb Alpert Educational Village, 3131 Olympic Boulevard in Santa Monica.
