French playwright and director, Celine Nyanga, selected the perfect spot in old Hollywood, (Figaro Bistrot Boulangerie) with its French antiques, dimly lit, cast-iron chandeliers and a zinc bar for this special evening. It was the ideal place for Nyanga to offer the lead role of her upcoming play Uterine Affairs or the Inconceivable Conception, to the delightful and proficient actress Mariana Montes.

Nyanga who is also directing the show was looking for an actress who could be vulnerable on stage, who could portray the kindness and benevolence the character "Mary Joan" has, but also show some inner strength and be able to affirm herself at the end of her journey. She thought Mariana had all these qualities, more than any other actress she knew. Plus, Montes was familiar with French Avant-Garde Theater of the Absurd, which is key in this piece.

Accompanied by an extraordinary international cast that includes award-winning actor Martin Rayner, Mariana Montes is ready for this challenging role to star in the world premiere of Uterine Affairs as Mary Joan Holly for the 2016 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Since Montes moved from Mexico City to L.A in 2011 it became one of her goals to perform at one of the largest arts festival in the world and the perfect opportunity finally knocked at her door. With determination, dedication, patience, and hard work Montes is positioning herself among the arena of strong lead-female actresses. Her passion for acting does not stop on stage she is an ardently enthusiastic devotee storyteller and aims to create and fulfill a notable presence in the world of cinema.

A hilarious, controversial, thought provoking play exploring the journey of a woman in a world where absurdity is the only thing closest to reality. Uterine Affairs created by French playwright Celine Nyanga and Spanish Writer/Producer Monica Gozalbo is set to open on Saturday, June 4th-June 25th, at The Lounge Theater. The venue is located at 6201 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. 90038. Right in the center of Hollywood's Theatre Row.
