MD Productions Present West Coast Debut of JESUS H, 6/8-29
By: Courtnie Mele
MD Productions presents Jesus H: A Solo Play for the Zealot in all of us, as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival. This coming June, Writer/Performer Mariah Freda makes her West Coast debut with the World Premiere of Jesus H. Set to Open June 8th at Elephant Studio @ Theatre Asylum.
In this heartfelt, true life comedy, Mariah travels back to the days of her Catholic School upbringing encountering questionable teachers, Jehovah's Witnesses, Theresa Caputo, a very Italian Grandmother, a six year old religious fanatic and the Devil himself. Through laughs and investigations on the existence of mermaids, Mariah manages to uncover a bit of truth beneath all the madness.
With original direction by the award winning Samantha Jones, (www.therealsamanthajones.com) this one-woman show is packed with storytelling, impersonations, and divine interaction. Somehow toeing the line between irreverence and faith, Jesus H asks us all to think about what we do and don't believe and where the differences intersect.
