The West Coast Premiere of Make Me A Song: The Music of William Finn, will grace the stage of The Covina Center for the Performing Arts as part of the Festival of New American Musicals.

Performances will begin on May 7th and run through May 10th. Join CCPA for the Festival of New American Musicals at the West Coast Premiere of this new revue of works by one of the most influential Broadway composers of the last half century.

Make Me A Song: The Music of William Finn is a celebration of the music of Tony Award winning composer William Finn, featuring over twenty hits from this artist's exceptional career. The treasured tunes by this award-winning Broadway composer make for an unforgettable evening of music. These songs tell personal, haunting and often hilarious tales from Finn's rich and touching songbook which spans four decades and includes such hit shows as the 2005 Tony Award winning The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, In Trousers, March of the Falsetto's Falsettoland (adapted into Falsettos), A New Brain, and Elegies: A Song Cycle.

The Festival of New American Musicals was founded in 2006 by Marcia Seligson (Producing Artistic Director -1996-2006 of Reprise! Broadway's Best) and Bob Klein, founding board member of Reprise! and specialist in marketing the arts. "The Covina Center for the [Performing] Arts is one of the theaters whose participation is making this festival a success. It is truly one of the great regional theaters in Southern California. Directed by CCPA Artistic Producing Director Phil Miller Make Me A Song: The Music of William Finn includes musical direction by Brian P. Kennedy. Nich Prax is Associate Director. The cast includes Dennis Kyle, Robin de Lano, Michael Skidgel and Shawna Hamic. Lighting design is by Bryan Dauterive, and Carla Fiore is the Production Stage Manager..
Make Me A Song: The Music of William Finn will be performed on May 7th-10th Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening performances at 8 pm and Sunday at 2 pm. After every performance, the cast and creative staff will have a Talkback session with the audience, discussing the process and production of Make Me A Song: The Music of William Finn.
