Mark Ferber, Hollywood Bowl's longtime production supervisor and special events manager, has passed away at age 60. His death has been attributed to injuries sustained after a bad fall.

Hollywood Bowl concert goers may know him best for his voice, as he was the announcer of "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Hollywood Bowl", the greeting heard before all shows.

According to the LA Times, Ferber is survived by his wife Suzanne Friedline Ferber, an actress he married in 2001, and his five year old son, Daniel.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hollywood Bowl, 2301 N. Highland Ave., Los Angeles.

One of the largest natural amphitheaters in the world, with a current seating capacity of just under 18,000, the Hollywood Bowl has been the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since its official opening in 1922, and, in 1991 gave its name to a resident ensemble that has filled a special niche in the musical life of Southern California, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.
