Larry Cedar Brings NOTES FROM THE UNDERGROUND to The Sherry Theater Next MonthEnter the existential world of Fyodor Dostoevsky through Larry Cedar's original one-man stage adaptation of the acclaimed novel, NOTES FROM THE UNDERGROUND, now playing November 2nd, 9th, and 16th at The Sherry Theater in North Hollywood as a featured production of the 2017 NoHo Fringe Festival.

Cedar returns to The Sherry Theater after last year's highly acclaimed staging of his first original stage adaptation, ORWELLIAN, based on the works of George Orwell and winner of the 2016 NoHo Fringe Festival award for Best Solo Performance.

Cedar began work on his adaptation of the classic Dostoevsky novel in February of this year, followed by first rehearsals in July and a debut performance of the piece in October.

The NoHo Arts District had this to say about his performance: "Mr. Cedar astonishes with his intimate portrait of sad isolationism, and astounds at his ability to hold an audience spellbound."

NOTES follows the clever, if somewhat tortured musings of Underground Man, a former civil servant who, emerging from some forty years' isolation, attempts to explain his theories on human nature through vivid recollections of a distance past. In an attempt to come to terms with his own despicable nature, he tussles with a variety of misfits and miscreants as they traverse the cluttered hovels of Petersburg, a raucous and liquor soaked cafe, and finally a dark and filthy house of ill repute.

Larry Cedar played opium addicted card dealer Leon for three seasons on HBOs critically acclaimed series Deadwood, and has guest-starred on dozens of other television shows including Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders, The Last Tycoon, Trial & Error, American Horror Story, Mad Men, Greys Anatomy, Community, House, Terminator, NCIS, Enterprise, Alias, The Closer, Gilmore Girls, and Boston Legal. Feature films include The Crazies, Towelhead, Hollywoodland, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and a starring role in the upcoming independent feature, She Sings to the Stars ( Theater credits include the original plays, Discord and Nightmare Alley at The Geffen Playhouse. This is Larry's fourth solo stage performance, including ORWELLIAN, Billy Bishop Goes to War and American Fiesta at The Colony Theatre.
