LB Political Players Return 6/5
On June 5 at 5:30 P.M., politicians, community leaders and actors will again gather at the offices of Keesal, Young and Logan to talk about Long Beach politics, culture and its newsmakers. Tongues firmly in cheek, our Political Players promise to reveal the real truth about all that is happening in town.
This year's production, A Return to the Long Beach Home Companion, is done in the style of an old timey radio show. It's written by Gazette Executive Editor, Harry Saltsgaver and performed by the Long Beach Political Players. This year's players are: George Deukmejian, Evan Anderson Braude, Justin Rudd, Blair Cohn, Randy Gordon, Doris Topsy-Elvord, Gigi Fusco Meese, Gerrie Schipske, Mike DuRee, Laura Doud and Mitchell Nunn. Sound effects "art-fully" delivered by none other than Foley Artist extraordinaire, Art Levine. Harry's script will be rousing and provocative and the ad libs fast and furious. Anything can happen
In addition to the Radio Show, the acclaimed Keesal, Young and Logan chef will prepare a bounty of scrumptious appetizers to satisfy even the pickiest foodie. On your way to the buffet waits the KYL bartender who is happy to make you a drink.
The event is a fundraiser for The Playhouse and a truly unique event. Tickets are $85, a modest price for the chance to hang with politicians, eat great food and have a drink at the hosted bar. And it all takes place in a room with a breathtaking view of the harbor? And, as if that weren't enough, there will be raffles for gift cards and services from local businesses.
