Broadway Actress Juliette Fairley is starring in a short film called Best Dramatic Short that is screening at the LA Shorts Film Fest in Hollywood next week. The film, in which Miss Fairley plays a single woman obsessed with cats, will screen on Thursday July 28 at 7:30pm at the premiere art house chain Laemmle Sunset 5 Theaters located at 8000 Sunset Blvd. Directed by British native James Brown, the film is a quirky comedy set in L.A. about life, love and the Oscars.

"I had so much fun portraying this character; a single woman who is neurotically attached to her cats. The role allowed me to exercise my comedic talent," says Fairley who was in Manhattan to support an art auction at Bonham's on Madison Avenue benefiting Russell Simmons' fundraising gala Art For Life along with celebrity clothing and shoe designer Tory Burch. Miss Fairley is best known for performing her solo show Mulatto Saga that was directed by famed filmmaker Charles Burnett and cross-marketed with Halle Berry perfume portables. Starring Fairley, the 27 minute film, Best Dramatic Short, is up for an award in the comedy category of the film festival and also features actors Upasana Beharee, Michael Clark and Byron Marc.
